Synopsis
A young girl’s birthday overlaps with a memorial service. She struggles to blow out the candles, avoiding adults who prioritize rituals over birthday celebrations.
Director's Comment
I wanted to solve the memorial service culture that exploits and maintains the labor of living people in a fun way from the child's point of view by confronting the child's birthday and memorial service. Rather than a simple critical gaze, it gave the meaning of wanting to solve the problem by compromising in a more modernized direction by restoring the crushed cake as a ritual food.
