Once an animated film is complete, the most pressing question for any creator is “Where and how can this film keep finding an audience?”
It is a tough reality that independent animations, born from years of hard work, often end their theatrical life after just a few days at a film festival. Given this situation, finding alternative distribution paths should no longer be a burden creators carry alone. With mid- and feature-length productions on the rise, building a sustainable exhibition ecosystem has become one of our industry’s most urgent priorities.
Today, independent animation distribution is expanding far beyond film festivals, reaching independent art cinemas, cinematheques, local cultural spaces, multiplex special screenings, and online platforms. This seminar brings together creators, curators, and distributors to discuss these winds of change and explore practical avenues for collaboration.
We hope this gathering serves as a meaningful starting point and opens new possibilities for everyone navigating their project’s next step.
