Synopsis
Because of a tumor in her brain, Qualia's mom gets a Robotic Brain Transplant surgery. Qualia thinks her mom is not the same person she uses to know, but her mom believes she hasn't changed because she has the same memories as before.
Director's Comment
Where does our consciousness come from? What makes us, us? Inspired by one of my favorite movies, The Matrix, I've written a script to throw the same questions to the world back in 2019. Qualia and her mom conflict becuase of their points of view are different. The daughter thinks our organic brains define us, on the other hand, mom thinks our memory's continuity composes us. There is no clear answer. How would you react if you hear someone you love gets the same surgery as Qualia's mom?
