SONG Lackhyun
SONG Lackhyun is an animation producer and researcher who is active in project planning and research to foster the growth of Korean animation as a cultural sphere and industry. In 1997, he was a host for [STUDIO BOOM BOOM], Tooniverse’s animation information program. In 1999, he made the seven-part special documentary [40 Years of Korean Animation] which received the Best Korean Cable TV Program Award. In 2012, he was the producer for the theatrical animation [Speckles: The Tarbosaurus 3D] which became the second highest-ranking Korean animation in box office history. He is also the author of books including [ANI SCHOOL] and [Japanese Anime Movie: 50 Years’ History]

SHIN Eun-shil
SHIN Eun-shil was responsible for programs at the Seoul Eco Film Festival, Cinema Digital Seoul Film Festival, and EBS International Documentary Festival among others. She is the co-author of a number of published works including Philippe Garrel, desespoir eblouissant; The Korean 100 Films; The Independent Movie of the 21st Century; and Jerzy Skolimowski. She served as a jury member for the Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS), Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Indie Film Fest Busan. She is currently a lecturer at Korea National University of Arts.

LEE Sung-gang
LEE Sung-gang began his career as a short animation filmmaker in 1995, directing a number of animated shorts including [Soul], [Ashes in the Thicket], [O-Nu-Ri], and [A Monster in the Reservoir]. He made his feature debut with the animated feature film [My Beautiful Girl, Mari] in 2002. He went on to direct the live action feature film [Texture of Skin (2005)] and the feature-length animations [Yobi: The Five Tailed Fox (2007)] and [Kai (2016)]. He received numerous awards including the Grand Prize at the 26th Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2002, the Special Award at Animafest Zagreb in 2004, and the Excellence Award at the 2007 Chicago Children’s Film Festival. Currently, he is preparing to release his feature-length animation [Princess Aya] which he directed in 2020.

LEE Sung-hwan
Born in Andong in 1985, LEE Sung-hwan majored in animation at Korea National University of Arts. He founded Studio SHELTER in 2009 and is currently serving as an executive director. He directed a number of films including [Ah (2011)], [Cleaner (2017)], and [This Is Us (2021)]. Recently, he has been working with VR animations such as this 2022 work [Carving with Memories: Ihyangjeong].

LIM Su-in
Since graduating from the Department of Communication Design at Hongik University in 2015, LIM Su-in has been working as a director at KOINRUSH Studio. She produced a video for NAVER’s “Life Log, Blog Campaign” and the League of Legends Ahri 10th anniversary film for Riot Games. She also directed and produced music videos for “Where the Sea Sleeps” by day6 and “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault” by BAEK Yeri among others. Her music video for Hanhae’s “Clip Clop” won an award at the 2018 MTV Music Video Festival.

Jinna LEE
Jinna LEE is a programmer at Ulju Mountain Film Festival(UMFF) from 2018. She finished the film studies PhD. Course at Hanyang University. Before joining UMFF, since 2005, she has worked at Jeonju International Film Festival(JIFF), Jaechun International Music and Film Festival(JIMFF), DMZ International Documentary Film Festival(DMZ Docs), Busan International Short Film Festival(BISFF) and International Intangible Heritage Film Festival(IIFF). She has been served jury works at Jokja Netpac Asian Film Festival(JAFF), Kaohsiung Film Festival, Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Golden Horse Film Festival, Jeonju International Film Festival(JIFF), Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival(KIKY) and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival(BIFAN).

JEON Seungbae
JEON Seung-bae received his MFA in Animation Production from Chung-Ang University’s Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science & Film. He is the CEO and director of Toyville Animation Studio. He directed and produced the stop motion animations [Battery Daddy (2021)], [Saturday’s Apartment (2018)], [The Time of Two Boys (2016)], [See You Later (2014)], and [What’s Wrong? (2008)] His screenings and awards include the Grand Prize at the Catholic Film Festival, the KIAFA Special Prize, the Digicon6 Asia 2 Award, the Golden Gate Award from the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Audience Award from Kaboom and New York International Children’s Film Festival, the Best Asian Short Film Award from Sapporo International Short Film Festival, as well as Clermont-Ferrand, Zagreb, and more. In addition, he produced numerous commercial films. Recently, Changbi Publishing made a picture book version of Jeon’s short animations Battery Daddy and Saturday’s Apartment, expanding the scope of his works to include picture books as well.

Nuno BEATO
Nuno BEATO is founding partner, producer and director of Sardinha em Lata. Teacher since 2002 in various institutions in different areas of animation. As far as directing is concerned, special mention should be made of the series [Emma & Gui] - shown in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Finland, South, Korea and Argentina and the short film [Mi Vida en Tus Manos], winner of 8 awards and around 100 selections in festivals around the world. He directed his first feature film [My Grandfather’s Demons].

WON Jongshik
WON Jongshik graduated from Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Philosophy in 1999, and FIT Animation & Interactive Media in 2003. Since graduating from the School of Film, TV & Multimedia in the Department of Animation at Korea National University of Arts in 2007, he has been the CEO and director of Ashubia Animation Productions to the present. WON produced and directed [Paopao in the Baobab Islands], a 52-episode animated series that aired on EBS in 2014. He wrote, planned, produced, and directed the feature-length animation [Astro Gardener (2019)] which received the Dream Award in the feature-length section of the Guro International Children’s Film Festival, and was officially invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Kaohsiung Film Festival, and London Korean Film Festival. WON continues to be an active creator whose works have been shown and have received awards from renowned film festivals in Korea and abroad.

JEONG Da-hee
Makes 2 seconds of animation per day. Since 2013 JEONG Da-hee has been working as an independent animation film director and producer. Her first film, [Man on the Chair (2014)], was presented at the Directors' Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival, won the Cristal Grand Prix at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. [The Empty (2016)] was screened at over 100 film festivals around the world and won 20 awards. Her latest film, [Movements (2019)] was presented at the Directors' Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival. She has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2018. Currently teaching in the department of Visual Communication Design at Hongik University.

CHAI Minjoo
CHAI Minjoo majored in composition at Chugye University for the Arts. He is currently a composer and music director at Nouvelle Vague, working on various movies, dramas, and animations, such as the Netflix original series [Hellbound], which topped the worldwide rankings in the second half of last year, and the upcoming Netflix Original Movie [JUNG_E] scheduled to be released in the first half of next year. His leading animation works include [Dinosaurs on the Korean Peninsula 2: New Paradise], [Bungaeman: The Beginning], [Spookiz the Movie], and the feature-length musical animation [Princess Aya] scheduled to be released in September of this year.

Laure GOASGUEN
Passionate about cinema, she did a two-years degree in Cinema and Audiovisual at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris before doing a professional degree in Marketing of the cultural products, specialized in Cinema and audiovisual products. She did a 6 months internship at MIYU Distribution in order to complete her degree. After graduating, she was hired as responsible for festival distribution and school relations manager and has worked and traveled around the world for the company ever since. She likes to do lectures about film distribution in order to promote knowledge about this stage of the film industry.

Michael FREI
Born in Switzerland in 1987, he is a filmmaker and artist based in Zürich. He studied animation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and at the Estonian Academy of Art in Tallinn. His Films [Not About Us] and [Plug & Play] received numerous awards all over the world.

LEE Kyunghwa
LEE Kyunghwa is the editor and publisher of SEOUL&ANIMATOR. From 2004 to 2007, she worked on a variety of animation productions for theater and television. Since then, she has worked with numerous film festivals including the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (2008~2015), Busan International Film Festival (2008), Indie-AniFest (2009~present), Seoul Best of the Best Animation Festival (2015), and KOC!ANI (2018). Currently, she is the co-chair for the SIGGRAPH Asia 2022 Computer Animation Festival and the programmer for the Seoul Indie-AniFest ASIA ROAD Competition.

CHOI Yujin
CHOI Yujin studied at Sungkonghoe University’s Graduate School of Cultural Studies and received her MA from the Department of Culture and Arts Management in 2007. She joined the Korean Independent Animation Filmmakers Association’s executive committee in 2006 and became the General Manager of the committee in 2007. She was the Festival Manager of the Indie-AniFest festival committee until 2017 when she became the committee’s Festival Director. Since 2010, she has also worked in the distribution of independent animations through the AniSEED project, and she is currently involved in film screenings, distribution, education, and policy-making related to independent animations.

Jinny Hyejin CHOO
Majored in Animation and Illustration and received an MFA in Art and Film from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film, Chung-ang University, Seoul in Korea and a Doctorate in Animation Theory and Contents Producing from the same university in 2015. She is a guest professor at School of Film, TV & Multimedia, the Korea National University of Arts. Beginning with Pucheon International Student Animation Festival in 2000, she was involved in Seoul International Cartoon Animation Festival, Gwacheon SF Film Festival, and is currently working for SIGGRAPH ASIA 2020 as the conference chair and Indie-AniFest as a programmer. She is currently a programmer at Seoul Indie-AniFest, producer for the Relay Animation Project, and a member of the Korean Film Council.

KIM Heeseon
KIM Heeseon studied Animation at the Royal College of Art, UK. Her work [The River] has been widely shown in festivals and venues around world, including Animafest Zagreb, Hiroshima Animation festival and more - It was also selected as collection by British film institute(BFI). She is currently lecturing at Chung-Ang University and is participating as an executive member of Indie Anifest.

LEE Kyunghwa
LEE Kyunghwa is the editor and publisher of SEOUL&ANIMATOR. From 2004 to 2007, she worked on a variety of animation productions for theater and television. Since then, she has worked with numerous film festivals including the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (2008~2015), Busan International Film Festival (2008), Indie-AniFest (2009~present), Seoul Best of the Best Animation Festival (2015), and KOC!ANI (2018). Currently, she is the co-chair for the SIGGRAPH Asia 2022 Computer Animation Festival and the programer for the Indie-AniFest Asia Road Competition.

Kristin JI
Studied English Language and Literature at Chung-Ang University, and received her MA degree with the thesis 「Cinema of Ang Lee as a Popular Auteur」 at the Graduate School of Arts of Chung-Ang University. She had served as a programmer in Chungmuro International Film Festival (2007-2008) and Seoul International Family Film Festival (2010-2011). She was a jury member of the GrandOFF World Independent Film Award(2014-2016) in Poland. She has worked at the Asiana International Short Film Festival as a programmer from 2013 to 2021.

KO Dong-hwan
KO Dong-hwan is an animation director and layout artist. He graduated from Hongik University with a major in animation in 2020. In the same year, he made the animation Play On which received the Audience Prize at Indie-AniFest. Ko has received awards from numerous domestic and international film festivals. Currently, he is making his next project and also working as a layout artist at ScanlineVFX. In addition, he has participated in numerous Netflix original series and Hollywood films.

KIM Kwang-hoi
KIM Kwang-hoi majored in animation at Kaywon University of Art & Design and storytelling at the graduate school of the Catholic University of Korea where he received his PhD. After becoming an animation producer in 2000, he was the executive producer for Backkom, Angel, I Love Picnic, and the web animation project Zombara TV. Since then, he has also produced a webtoon for Kakao and Kuaikan. Currently, he is working as a producer for a feature-length animation and a mid-length short animation production.

JEONG Da-hee
JEONG Da-hee is an animation director. She graduated from the Department of Animation at Hongik University. Her graduation film, The Armpit Hair Girl (2017), won the Star of Indie Grand Prize at the 2018 Indie-AniFest. Since then, she has continued to make short animations including The Great Poop Girl Rina (2020) and The Great Poop Girl (2021). The former won the Audience Prize in the Web Animated Series competition at the 2020 Indie-AniFest. Currently, she is working on the web animation The Spectacle Spectrum.

MO Eunyoung
Programmer MO Eunyoung majored in film theory and animation theory. She was a writer for EBS programs such as Cinema Paradiso and Anitopia as well as for numerous film columns in magazines and daily newspapers such as FILM2.0, DVD2.0, and KINO. MO Eunyoung has also worked as a programmer for Korean Film Archive Cinematheque KOFA for nine years, since it first opened. She currently works as a programmer and a programming consultant for events such as Seoul Indie-AniFest, the Jeju Film Festival.

JANG Nari
JANG Nari is an animation filmmaker. She received her BFA and MFA from the Department of Animation at Korea National University of Arts. Her short animations include Home Sweet Home, My Father’s Room, and Salvia at Nine. She received awards from numerous domestic film festivals including the 2016 Indie-AniFest and the 2017 Busan International Short Film Festival. In addition, her works have been invited to international festivals including Animafest Zagreb, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, and Brussels Animation Film Festival.

JO Yeseul
JO Yeseul graduated from Chungkang College of Cultural Industries. She produced the short animation The Game of All as her graduation film, and she produced the short animation Oolang Oolang in 2021. Currently, she is working on her next film, a mid-length animation titled Find It! Destiny.

LEE Yongsun
LEE Yongsun is an animation director. He was the executive director of the feature animation I’ll Just Live in Bando, the mid-length animation Toilet Concours, and the short animations Alone and Trying to Remember. He has taught at ChungKang College of Cultural Industries as an adjunct professor for 5 years and an associate professor for 3 years. From 2019 to 2021, he was a mentor for web animation projects in the Korea Creative Content Agency’s Creative Talent Program.

CHOI Heeseung
CHOI Heeseung received a BFA in oil painting from Hongik University and an MFA in animation from Korea National University of Arts. In 2019, she made the short animation Love at the Crossroads which received a special mention at Animafest Zagreb and the audience prize at Indie-AniFest. She also presented her work at numerous domestic and overseas film festivals. Currently, she is directing a feature-length animation and is lecturing at the Department of Animation at ChungKang College of Cultural Industries.
