Pulling out your own thorns is excruciating. One day, the hedgehog sees its own thorns injuring a caterpillar that came home, and while pushing itself to pull out the thorns, it is saved by the caterpillar's warm hands. Later, the caterpillar accidentally sets fire to the house, burning away his sculptures and some of his quills. As the caterpillar brushes the soot off the hedgehog's body, the quills, which had been stubbornly stubborn, begin to fall off naturally, and he realizes that what causes him suffering isn't the only way to achieve his goals.
