Synopsis

This is the story of a woman who looks everywhere for her nose after losing it during plastic surgery on the day before her job interview.

Director's Comment

My commute leads me to the area surrounding Apgujung-dong Station and Sinsa Station, leading out from subway line number 3, where many famous plastic surgeons' ads and billboards are located. In South Korea, non-curative, aesthetic plastic surgery has already become the norm. Such aesthetic plastic surgery goes beyond personal preferences of beauty and is even beginning to resemble prerequisite specifications for employment or marriage. It suddenly occurred to me: "What would happen if a nose, crafted by the plastic surgeon for the purpose of saving face in front of other people, were to suddenly disappear?" Modern individuals consider the nose to be a symbol of self-confidence. By depicting the trials of a woman who tried to use plastic surgery to raise her self-confidence only to have it be brought low in the space of a single day, I wanted to show that the true test of healthy self-confidence is to accept yourself as you are rather than to seek approval from others.
