Synopsis
Minhee ispracticing hard for the competition when she coincidentally meets a littlechild drawing a shark. On the day of the competition, something follows Minheeafter she jumps into the water…
Director's Comment
Great talent and compliments can makepeople easily confuse “what I do well” with “what I want to do,” which can be dangerouswhen they face big obstacles. Minhee suffers from an even bigger obsession whenthe competition day comes, and she thinks that she had to choose swimmingrather than drawing. What should we choose if given the choice betweensomething we are good at and something we enjoy? We may not consider the answerto this question deeply enough and live in ambiguity. Through the figure of theshark, I wanted to make the audience sympathize with the main character’s oppression and the conflict within herself, and I also wanted toillustrate the teenagers who do not know what they really want to do.
