    Day, the Chef
    Shuyu XIONG 2016 0:02:34 2D Computer

Living in Beijing the mega city, everyone is consumed by different kinds of modern civilization and ways of life. In the metro, buses, and office buildings, people are treated like raw materials, cooked into dishes, and placed on dining tables day and night. This animation presents the subtle connection between urban life and Beijing dishes. It vividly reflects how people are living under the pressures of urban life by using metaphors. Passengers are hanging on metro handrails like Beijing Roast Duck. Office workers are smashed between skyscrapers like pork with bean sauce. White collar employees insert paper into the photocopier like dipping lamb slices in a hot pot. Road rollers pass through the blacktop like making a Chinese pancake on a flat pan. The depressing life in an office building is like living in a steam box. This animation belongs to everyone who struggles with life in Beijing, and the story talks about the life that each of us is going through every day.
