Synopsis

"He’s like…the perfect man I’ve dreamed of my whole life." While studying abroad, I met him by chance in class—and fell in love. Everything felt perfect, like it was meant to be…Except for one thing. When the semester ends, I have to go back—4,173 miles away. What does it mean to love someone when you already know how it will end? What happens after falling in love with someone 4,173 miles away.

Director's Comment

This film explores the emotional spectrum of love, delving into the gap between ideal and reality. Love is one of the most intense emotions a person can experience—and also one of the most profound catalysts for self-reflection. While we all dream of romantic, fairy tale-like love, real-life love often confronts us with pain that leads to growth. Through an autobiographical lens, this work captures the duality of love—romance and reality, excitement and separation, and the quiet transformation that unfolds between them. Rather than focusing on dramatic events, the film is built on ordinary, relatable moments that gradually shape and strengthen a person. What matters more than a grand narrative is the subtle shift in self-understanding that love brings over time. With this story, I hope to convey that even imperfect love can be beautiful in its own right. The film adopts a collage style, reconstructing fragmented images into emotional pieces of memory, fantasy, heartache, and joy. Rather than a linear narrative, the structure follows an emotional rhythm, leaving space for viewers to project and reflect upon their own experiences with love.
