Synopsis

An endless expanse of green stretches to the horizon. There, two young robot siblings live together. One day, massive rainclouds descend upon their world. Dreaming of a place where the rain stops, the siblings set off on a journey to escape the never-ending downpour.

Director's Comment

Climate crisis, declining birthrates, and prolonged economic stagnation. The ladder between social classes has collapsed, and for young people in Korea, life is no longer about chasing dreams — it’s about frantically running from looming disaster. Through this film, I wanted not only to critique the helplessness of youth facing such a social reality, but also to raise a voice against it.

Program Note

The self-aware robot, Mother Nature, and survival—there is no combination so contradictory yet also somehow harmonious and intriguing. Most robots inevitably face destruction, whether due to damage or some other tragic fate. We are only drawn to self-aware robots when they are destroyed. Perhaps those robots will find salvation in this animation.
